Dr Lynn HulseDr Lynn Hulse has focused on embroidered textiles since 2004 and has lectured and written extensively on the subject. Former Archivist at the Royal School of Needlework, she is Editor of Text (the journal of The Textile Society), Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and Trustee of the Brangwyn Gift at the William Morris Gallery. She is the co-founder of Ornamental Embroidery, which runs workshops in historic and commercial venues across the UK and works closely with museums and private collectors to create an artistic range of kits inspired by objects from their collections. Her facsimile edition of the Royal School of Needlework’s 1880 Handbook of Embroidery was published in 2010. Decorating the Anglo-Irish Interior: Lady Julia Carew (1863-1922) and the Revival of Crewel Embroidery in the Jacobean Style will be published later this year. She is currently writing a book on the development of Art Embroidery in the second half of the 19th century.
